Project Scope

Context: 

The Multicolor Pen is an exploration of complex 3D forms for everyday use. The pen consist of 7 distinct colors. Its minimalist design and material were carefully chosen as the product is aimed to fit a more formal setting.

Problem:

The idea of having multiple color pens combined into one single cartridge is great. It is rather environmental friendly as it eliminates extra plastic. Perhaps, even cost effective for the consumer and producer. However, the extra width that comes with multicolor pens are not so welcomed by most people. Thus, this project explored solutions to re-introduce multi-colored pens back into the professional world.

Design Solution

Based on survey findings, I was able to find key points where a multi color pen could be improved and reintroduced into the office environment. The market analysis also guided this idea towards a potential final solution.

As result, I have decided to redesign an small profile and yet more artistic pen. This redesign aims to eliminate the cons of current multi color pens available in the market. Much more than just a pen, it's a work pilot.
